Objectives:

The Reservoir & Production Software (PIPES) basic course introduces new users to this software as a steady state, multiphase flow simulator used for design and analysis of oil and gas production systems. With its rigorous simulation, software helps you optimize your production and injection operations.

Audience:

Operating and service company, Fresh graduate students from Oil and Gas Universities, Experienced production, drilling & reservoir engineers, supervisors, operators and other petroleum professionals engineers that are new to PIPES who will become involved or responsible for field & wells production and work-over.

Course Content

Day#1

PIPES Software Introduction & Objectives intermediate Course Outline PIPES Software Definition & Overview: What is PIPES and what can you do with it?

Build the Oil Well Performance Analysis Model (well design & optimization). Input the Oil well data. Correct the missing data.

Perform a P/T Profile. NODAL analysis and generate a pressure /temperature profile

Day#2

Build the Gas Well Performance Analysis Model (well design & optimization). Create a compositional fluid model for a gas well. Calculate Gas Well Deliverability.

Calibrate the inflow model using multipoint test data. Select a tubing size.

Analyze water cut sensitivity and evaluate gas lift performance.

Day#3

Design the Offshore Subsea Tieback, Size the subsea tieback and riser Design the subsea tieback Select tieback insulation thickness.

Design & size a slug catcher. Screen for severe riser slugging. Determine the methanol requirement.

Artificial LIFT Methods. ESP Definition & Design for Oil Well Select The optimum ESP Pump Evaluate Gas Lift Performance

Day#4

Design the Oil Field Schematic Network Analysis Module. Input the wells & network data.

Create a compositional fluid model for a Gas Well. Flow-line manager data input. Unique network solution to model wells in large networks.

Simulation the multiphase flow correlations Run to Launch the Network Simulation

Day#5

WELL PERFORMANCE & ESP SELECTION Sensitize on the well PI to match well performance. Analyze Water Cut Sensitivity

Model Multiple completions & a Down-hole Choke Design the Production Network on the GIS Map

About Instructor

Eng. Labib Omar Hugari

I am an a Petroleum Engineer with over 15 years’ of experiences. And I am working as an International Oil Software Trainer & as a university lecturer in some petroleum collages with over 7 years, as well as my excellent experiences with Schlumberger (SIS) in Yemen. I hold a Master Degrees in the Petroleum Engineering Science from “Ufa State Petroleum Technological University", Faculty of Drilling (Directional Drilling-DD), Russia, 1992 – 1997.
